Idilio is the connection with nature, the diversity of a mixed culture of tropical plants and fruits, the dedication and full care and harvest of the finest cocoa beans, its careful fermentation and sun drying by small businesses. Origins refers to the company’s philosophy of focusing on selected individual farms and fine cocoa varieties, and to cooperate directly with local producers.
[toggle title=”Short poem”]Idilio Origins was founded in Basel in 2008 by Pascal Niklaus Wirth and Blumer. Strange but true, but they believed that once great Swiss chocolate hardly played a role anymore when it came to dark quality chocolate. And the two proofed they knew better: Over the years, they have won many prices for their chocolates.
The cocoa beans are picked locally in Venezuela, imported to Europe and the experts of Felchlin produce chocolate after Idilio’s own recipe. Each chocolate has a name of the farmer, cooperative or district. And a unique number. The Spanish word Idilio refers to a short poem that sings the romance of living close to nature, a sweet experience, a jewel.[/toggle]
