The central Colombian region of Meta is known for its beautiful landscapes and extraordinary sunrises and sunsets.
In Colombia the Andes split into what is called Andes and the Cordillera Oriental (in English: Eastern Ranges of the Andes). South-east of the Cordilla lies an isolated mountain range Serranía de La Macarena.
Meta is located east of the Colombian Andes and is characterized by vast grass plains called “Los Llanos”. They extend between the isolated Serranía de La Macarena mountain range in the southwest and the west of the Cordillera Oriental. This country of fast flowing rivers and dramatic waterfalls – that sounds like music “llanera” is where Tibito gets the best cocoa beans for this chocolate.
The terroir of Los Llanos is caught in this bar. Tibito buys beans directly from small farmers or farmer cooperatives. Quality is valued with a high fee. For Meta that is from the Agua Clara Farm of Harvey Guiza.
