Single orgin chocolate from Putumayo, Colombia
Awarded two golden stars by the International Taste & Quality Institute (ITQI) in Brussels.
The lush, fertile equatorial rainforest is the setting for a trip along the Putumayo River. In Colombia the main tributary of the Amazon. According to legend, it was here where the cocoa tree originated, making it a very special environment for lovers of fine chocolate.
The warm, tropical Putumayo department is located in the southwest of Colombia, on the border with Ecuador (province of Sucumbíos) and Peru. It rains all year round.
The origin of the cocoa is captured in this bar. You can taste the tropical rainforest. Tibito buys beans directly from the farmers or cooperatives. No brokering. Good quality is valued with a very high price. That way everyone gets better. These beans come from the cooperative COPROCAGUAMUEZ (a cooperative of 64 farmers) from Valle de Guamez.
