Out of nowhere, Kuná won first prize at “El Salon del Cacao y chocolate Ecuatoriano” in Guayaquil (Ecuador) in 2012.
More than fair trade
Kuná is a brand of the Ecuadorian company FreshCosta, which – by our standards – operates a remarkable social policy. What we call fair trade is quite normal in Ecuador. At Kuná it means social responsibility – firmly established throughout the concept. Producer well-being, job creation and the cultivation of high-quality cocoa are essential components.
The “Nacional” or “Arriba” cocoa comes from the “Kichwa cooperative Asociación Wiñak” from the Unesco Biosphere Sumaco.
Flavour notes: surprisingly delicious chocolate with goldenberry, the sister of the well-known cape gooseberry.
Ingredients: cocoa mass, panela (unrefined cane sugar: the juice of the plant is evaporated), cocoa butter, dried goldenberry, salt.
