Kuná makes its chocolate with cocoa beans from the “Kichwa Cooperative Wiñak” of Archidona, Napo (Amazon), Ecuador. The members of the cooperative live in the Unesco Biosphere Sumaco. The cocoa is grown by families in so-called chakras. These are jungle areas that they use as “gardens”. With all due respect for nature. Cultivation is purely organic, certified and by definition much more than fair trade.
