A careful infusion of Original Beans Virunga 70% dark chocolate with organic Matcha Iri Genmaicha, the respected Japanese tea blend of sencha, matcha, and roasted brown rice grains.

The Matcha Iri Genmaicha is grown and harvested on small organic tea fields belonging to family businesses in the Japanese regions of Uji and Kagoshima, which are known for their fertile soil and pure water.
This chocolate is made from rare Amelonado cocoa beans, organically grown by a regenerative cooperative in the rainforest of Virunga National Park in eastern D.R. Congo.

Original Beans is an idealistic chocolate producer. They offer cocoa farmers a so-called living income and even pay almost twice the Fairtrade premium. But they do more: they plant trees to restore the forest, teach farmers how to best process cocoa beans, and, of course, set up a nursery for cocoa trees.

Ingredients: cacao mass 59.65% * (Congo DR), raw cane sugar 27.96% * (Argentina/Paraguay), cacao butter 8.39% * (Dom. Rep.), iri genmaicha tea (green tea, brown rice, matcha powder) (4%)*

Flavour notes: The fresh, sweet, buttery notes of Matcha Iri Genmaicha are enhanced by a subtle umami depth, which perfectly complements the earthy, fruity, black tea flavors of Amelonado chocolate.

Made in an environment where milk and nuts are also being processed.
