ABOCFA is the only Organic and Fairtrade Certified Cocoa Cooperative in Ghana. Its 1063 members (789 men, 274 women) collectively farm 1514 hectares. The head office is located in the Aponoapono enclave in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region of Ghana and has a staff of 23.

ABOCFA’s mission is to equip farmers with productivity and management skills that improve their livelihoods, and generate additional income from cocoa premiums and other sustainable sources. We continually strive to be self-reliant, and to provide the best services to our members. Above all, ABOCFA aims to reduce poverty and ensure that all members attain a living income. Special attention goes towards protecting children and providing education opportunities (the cooperative even has its own Child Labour team). Another example is that all cooperative members are registered onto the National Health Insurance Scheme.
